We are currently seeking a Full Time Phlebotomist for a medical office located in Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Collect blood from pediatric patients by venipuncture and capillary techniques with specimen integrity and without undue injury to the patient.
  • Reviews labels against lab orders ensuring Test ordered correctly.
  • Proper handling of testing materials and packing for transport according to guidelines issued by the laboratory.
  • Adhere to federal and state compliance regulations, company policies and procedures, accrediting agency policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain satisfactory appearance of the blood collection area.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies.
  • Label, centrifuge and prepare specimens for transport.
  • Monitor test results and follow the workflow established by the practice within compliance requirements. 
  • Collect throat and nasal, nasal mid-turbinate and nasopharyngeal samples.
  • Be proficient in all necessary EMR Procedures.
  • Adhere to universal precautions and isolation procedures.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in training opportunities and meetings.
Requirements include: 
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience collecting blood on pediatric patients.
  • High School diploma or better.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Experience with nasal, nasal mid-turbinate, nasopharyngeal, and oral swab specimen collections.
  • Display compassionate, ethical, and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be computer proficient, have attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Have exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
